Most of us seem to have had a bad experience with resolution. This word is so loud heard every early year, but faintly we ourselves are not sure we can achieve it.
Week in a month, it seems not significant progress.

Why does the target feel so distanced by reality? How to make a situation like this not happen?
This is not another guide or tips. Because if you type “how to achieve resolution” on Google, less than 0.9 seconds appear 6.5 million references. In this article I share what we are doing at GNFI, so that the target does not stop as motivational words.
1. Determine the goal effectively
The goal can be very imaginative, very high, and very wild.
But no matter how high it, the goal setting is based on sufficient data. Past data, at this time, and projections of future situations.
At GNFI, we have just set goals at the beginning of the year by using SWOT analysis to map the situation of the past, at this time, and opportunities. Then explore the possibilities of action with Tows analysis.
From this analysis, we have written data that can be used to explore goals.
Although ideas can be very much, the goal should not be much. We choose only that we think will produce the most impact for the organization and the public.
For example, one of the two GNFI goals (we call it ongoing purpose) is “Enlarge loyal audience base “.
Among the many desires that arise, this is what we feel the biggest impact when we can really achieve it.
2. Obsession with small achievements, and make it a habit
Purpose is something that we haven’t been there. Between the current conditions and the purpose there is a gap that must be connected. This connector needs to be clearly the shape and size.
If we want to have a flat stomach within 3 months (hopefully quite realistic), at least the connector is physical activity and how much frequency.
Every successful in doing physical activity, means a small victory. The accumulation of this activity will lead us to a big win later (hopefully 3 more months).
James Clear in his best -selling book atomic habits, calling this “Focus on the system, not target”. The target is a flat stomach, the system is the activities that lead us to there. This will be better for mental, compared to obsessed with doing big things to achieve big results at once, but only once.
This is the reason we name the organization’s goals as “ongoing goals”.
This goal will be achieved Multiyears Or we do it on an ongoing basis in several years. With the hope that when this year the loyal audience will be even greater, then it will lead us to an even greater amount in the following year.
The benefits for the organization? Very much and have an impact.
3. Progress Monitoring Ritual
What makes us all realize that there is progress or not? Yes check it. Check whether the activity to achieve the goal has been carried out? How much progress? How much enough to reach the target? Or lest even back. What is why?
How often should check progress? Depending on your situation. But we do it every week in a ritual Weekly reviews.
Why not every month? Too risky, isn’t it time now to pass faster?
Who was involved in checking this progress? Everyone in the organization. Just set the mechanism.
For effectiveness and remains efficient, we do it every week with a special one -week pattern with leaders, the following week the leader Plus all team members alias everyone in the organization.
